Depicting the Hiawatha wampum belt, the prominent symbol stands for unity.

The squares represent the member nations of the Iroquois (Mohawk Nation, Oneida Nation, the Cayuga Nation, and Seneca Nation from left to right), while the tree in the middle represents the Capital of the Iroquois, the Onondaga Nation. These nations are connected by a binding path which extends beyond the 5 member nations to welcome a path of peace to others beneath the Great Tree of Peace in the confederacy.
